Rights inflation and the crisis of Canada’s rights culture
Scholars from sociology, law, and political science debate an emerging paradox in Canada’s human rights culture: whereas ‘human rights’ has become an effective strategy for framing grievances, the increasing appropriation of rights-talk is undermining its transformative power. This interdisciplinary session is moderated by Alex Neve, Secretary General, Amnesty International (Canada).
